Great Wall
The world has yet to experience the animosity that existed 2000 years ago between Jew and Gentile. It’s not that they failed to be on the same page…they were not in the same library. In the Temple Mount, the Court of the Gentiles was the farthest it could be from the Holy of Holies. Even the Court of Women was closer then they.
Jesus came and broke down the wall that separated these two people and at the same time He broke down the wall that separated man from God.
Hundreds of years before Christ, men used walls to not only protect themselves but also to separate themselves from those they didn’t like. The Great Wall of China was begun in the 3rd century BC. Ephesians 2:14-16 states that Christ broke down all those walls of religion, diet, dress, etc. that separate men and thus provided the means to live in peace.
So the question to be asked is: How are we doing? Rather than answer that question, let history speak: The Berlin Wall; Slavery; Segregation; Darfur; Genocide of the Kurds; War on Terror and the Immigration Dilemma.
It sure looks like we’re going backward rather than progressing. We can’t settle our problems and it appears that we are on the verge of building the Great Wall of America. Surely there’s got to be another answer.
