It is the family unit…not the church that is primarily responsible for the biblical and spiritual training of the children. The Church, Sunday School, Children’s Ministry and Youth Ministry have the responsibility of assisting and supplementing the teaching of parents. I take a vitamin every morning. It says on the bottle it is a supplement to my normal diet. I can’t live on vitamins; they are to supplement what I eat. The Church is to supplement the normal spiritual training of the family.

One of the responsibilities of the Dad is the protector of the home. The last plague upon Pharaoh when the children of Israel were getting out of Egypt was the Death Angel. It was the father’s responsibility to slay the lamb and apply the blood to the door post. The safety of the home depended upon a father following his faith and protecting his family.

Today the Death Angel is passing through America. The Death Angel is seeking our children. He enters the home through TV, Cartoons, movies, HBO, MTV, and even My Space. Have you ever asked your child or grandchild if they are on My Space? Remember: Everything that glitters is not gold! The Scripture states, “The thief comes to steal and to kill and to destroy.” Who is watching your home?
